The Mission
of Bethany UMC
to know the love of God personally through Jesus Christ,
to share the love of God through fellowship as a congregation,
to spread the love of God throughout the community and the world.
Bethany United Methodist Church is a 600-member congregation located in Gloucester Point, at the south end of Virginia's Middle Peninsula, not far from where the Coleman Bridge provides a highway link over the York River to Yorktown and Newport News. Organized in 1887, Bethany continues to proclaim God's love revealed in Jesus Christ as the transforming influence in our lives and as the hope for the salvation of the world. Comprised of people of all ages and of all walks of life, the Bethany congregation gathers for worship, study, and fellowship, and scatters for witness and service to the world.
